We have been in continuous operation since Harold Mercer started the Harold Mercer Company nearly 100 years ago and are known today as Mercer Midwest, Inc.
Harold Mercer originally started the Harold Mercer Company around 1923, and it became the first manufacturer’s representative for the Furnas Electric Company shortly after Furnas Electric was formed in 1932. Generations of Mercers continued to provide the Midwest with quality industrial solutions all the way through the successful career of Jon Mercer.
With Jon’s retirement at the end of 2014, he entrusted the continuation of his family’s legacy to Ryan Freund in 2015. A commitment to the Mercer tradition has been a cornerstone for the Mercer Midwest team – a group of like-minded and hardworking sales professionals who are more like family than co-workers.
The Mercer Midwest depth continues to expand still today, as the expertise and history of MTECH Wisconsin, Inc. became a part of the Mercer Midwest family on October 1, 2020. The company that Kevin Mahoney started in 1991 lives on through the incredible business he has developed in the WI territory, the quality manufacturers he has represented, and the talented team he has built, all of which have become a part of the Mercer Midwest family. Kevin’s plans to enjoy retirement with his beloved family are well-deserved!
